Coming from winning the 1908 World Series at a time when there were only 46 states and the U.S. was fighting two world wars, the Chicago Cubs have certainly made a comeback in winning the World Series this season. Although thought unlikely by most, the Chicago Cubs managed to win the World Series in over a century long… am I the only excited?! The previously known sad MLB Cubs team were only thought of as an adorable team who tried with all their might. It was thought that the Cubs had the supposed “Billy Goat Curse” tied to their backs with no potential of ever winning. At least not until now.

All those true fans out there were overjoyed with stirrings of warmth and smiles knowing their childhood dreams have come true. I grew up with the Cubs, my father is probably one of their biggest fans and owns season tickets so I spent a lot of time in Wrigley Field. Going from watching countless lost games and cheering on relentlessly certainly paid off on November 2nd, 2016 in Cleveland, Ohio.

It was the night of game seven against the Cleveland Indians, both teams tied 6-6 at the top of the 10th inning, everyone crouching on the edge of their seats. Then, after the suspense of the rain delay, the cubs swooped in with MVP Ben Zobrist scoring the last two game-winning runs the Cubs needed. Every Cubs fan burst from their seat, jumping in glee of their cubbies finally winning. And with a score of 8-7 to end the game, the Chicago Cubs ended the curse and made groundbreaking history to last for a lifetime.
